Get Up

Loss is difficult. Working through the sadness associated with losing loved ones inspired me to write this piece. The loss of a parent, a friend or a child can seem small at first, but the as one matures, one realizes how much of an influence one person can have in one’s life. We wait to hear words of support, criticism and laughter. I often look at strangers and wonder what keeps them going despite adversity. After working on a film set in Toronto and being star struck by Lawrence Fishbourne, I wrote the second part of this piece.
