A motor-car is used for a robbery, and Guy Garrick — a detective who works with a laboratory, a telephone tap and a knowledge of engines — goes after a gang who understand machinery as well as he does. Reeve created Craig Kennedy and wrote some eighty stories in the same vein; this 1914 one is the motoring novel of the series, and the technology in it was brand new when he wrote it.
