Cole Morgan was about to embark with another wagon train, headed for Oregon, where land grants were being dispersed. Emily Carrington was running away from home. When she heard about all the wagon trains going west from Independence Missouri, she knew that was her ticket to her new freedom.

There was only one problem. Cole Morgan didn't allow unmarried women on his train. But meeting Emily for the first time, she made a huge impression on him.
