Laura E. Richards (Laura Elizabeth Howe Richards) was an American writer. She was born February in 1850 in Boston in a social reformer's family. She published more than 90 books . Laura E. Richards is the first American nonsense poet for kids. One of her best books of nonsense poetry is called Tirra Lirra. She use  different stylistic divises in this book sach as rhythm, alliteration, and startling imagery to tell an imaginative story.
