Howff tae Hip Hop

So much good music has come out of Edinburgh. This is a history of popular music in the city from 1960 to 2011, it ranges from the founding of the Howff folk club to the rappers in Medina today.


The focus is on Rock, Pop, Folk, Glam, Punk, New Wave, Electronica, Hip Hop, and those downright weird individuals you can’t quite categorise, but who keep the clubs and pubs buzzing.

It includes the stories of the bands and critical reviews of the music they played.
