Hurricane Arabella

As an enormous hurricane barrels toward Miami Beach, Michael Shale lounges on his apartment balcony wondering where it all went wrong. A nightclub doorman on the wrong side of forty, he's been looking around increasingly unsure if there’s anything left for him in the tourist hotspot he's called home for twenty plus years. The recent suicide of Arabella, one of his closest friends, isn't exactly helping his mood.
Then the former love of his life, Silvana, who unceremoniously dumped him years ago for a more upwardly mobile co-worker, asks for help. Her son has been kidnapped by a mutual friend, Virgil. Michael agrees to help, partially because Silvana has always been the one woman he can’t say no to, but also because he wants to prevent Virgil from doing something he’ll regret for the rest of his life.
As he races through the rain lashed streets, Michael quickly realizes he’s not the only person looking, and what Silvana told him was only a small part of a much bigger story that involves the upcoming mayoral election and secrets held by the recently deceased, Arabella. If Michael wants to save the missing child and ultimately himself, he’ll need to unravel the whole sordid tale before the storm washes them all away.
