The book follows one man's journey through the lung transplant process. Beginning with his upbringing in a small North Carolina town, the author traces how events and experiences in his life shaped him and prepared him for the difficult process of lung transplantation. Upon completion of the transplant, the author takes us on the journey through recovery. In addition to the physical healing, the author also details the mental healing that also had to occur.
