But what exactly did intelligence do?
In Intelligence Was Never Stored, Sandeep Chavan reconstructs the event from the ground up.
Something first becomes unresolved: Delta. The system encounters that Delta through inherited and accessible Resolution Geometry—its organized relations, knowledge, memory, representations, capacities, tools, and prior consequences. Relevant parts of this geometry form a temporary configuration under constraint. Resolution occurs. Consequence changes the field. Learning alters what can become possible next.
Only afterward, across enough evidence, do observers make another move:
intelligent.
This book develops that reversal across human cognition, expertise, learning, comparative cognition, animals, distributed intelligence, tool-supported humans, artificial intelligence, AI agents, autonomy, AGI, and superintelligence.
It introduces the Configurational Resolution Model, the Declared Resolution Field, and the distinction among Individual, Extended, and Collective Resolution Geometry. It also carefully separates intelligence from knowledge, memory, awareness, consciousness, agency, autonomy, and successful resolution.
The argument does not deny psychometric intelligence, stable cognitive differences, biological constraints, or genuine artificial capability. Instead, it distinguishes measurement, prediction, mechanism, and attribution.
The result is a different question about intelligence.
Not: Where is intelligence stored?
But: What actually happens when a system resolves?
And ultimately: Perhaps intelligence was never the thing doing the solving.
