Jane Austen Novels

Jane Austen’s remarkable novels of romantic fiction, set among the British landed gentry, has made her one of the most widely read authors in the world. Austen’s realism, biting irony, and social commentary as well as her well-crafted plots make her novels highly relevant for modern readers. 


Austen wrote only six novels during her life. These novels were Sense and Sensibility (1811), Pride and Prejudice (1813), Mansfield Park (1814), Emma (1815), Northanger Abbey (1818, published posthumous), and Persuasion (1818, published posthumous).
