Just As I Am

 can still picture today the evangelist’s face leaning in to me, telling me to go home and work on my faith as if I was a disappointment to him. His measuring stick of faith was based on a miracle that, in reality, I didn’t need to be made whole. The miracle he was trying to work up wasn’t one that was intended to bring the kingdom a soul. Where in the Word of God does it say that believers are to show disappointment when people are content with what they are given, such as their physical forms, like I was? Where in the Bible is it acceptable to teach another believer that their body is unacceptable as it is, and their body becomes the focus of correction rather than the condition of their soul? My physical body was incomplete, but my soul was being completed in Him.

From being paraded down a church aisle to putting on the first prosthetic limb and walking down the hospital hall, Sheila takes readers on a journey through the eyes of a young girl who knew physical and emotional pain. Through the pain she stepped into a spiritual journey grasping her Bible discovering Jesus, her best friend and healer.

Sheila candidly shares memories providing scriptures for life application, encouraging others who may feel incomplete for life’s challenges. 

Born with a birth defect and becoming an amputee, Sheila can relate with those who struggle with identity, self-esteem, or emotional issues. She believes God has purposed within her to share with others - they are marvelous creations simply because God created them. It’s her hope others believe they have a God-given purpose and nothing should ever hold them back!

Sheila is a wife, mom and school counselor who enjoys long winding roads on her Harley!
