Keeping the Peace

Keeping the Peace will be an important resource for social historians, legal academics and others interested in changing approaches to police administration and the evolution of modern law enforcement procedures. Many libraries, both public and academic, will want to acquire the book for their collections, as it includes the personal stories, first hand experiences and candid opinions of generations of men and women involved in the front line of Queensland policing. As we approach the sesquicentenary of the Queensland Police service, inaugurated on 1st January, 1864, this book will also serve as a timely reminder of the dedication and courage displayed by so many police officers in the course of their public duty.
