Like Water

Struck by her brother’s description of their mother as water inspired author Crystal M.’s book Like Water, an engaging and sometimes painful reflection about her mother, motherhood, and family with snippets and insights on childrearing and child psychology. Crystal and her siblings grew up under the harsh, strict, oppressive, and tyrannical rule of their mother and her violent mood swings. Living under her thumb, Crystal grew up sheltered, vulnerable, and somewhat unprepared for the evils of real life. But the lessons her mother gave them, sometimes uncompromisingly harsh, has saved her and made her hardy, capable to weather all the bad things that came her way.
