Mary Wakefield

Mary Wakefield is the third book in the beloved Jalna series by Mazo de la Roche. First published in 1949, this book tells the story of a young English woman who is hired as a governess for the Whiteoak children. 


The Jalna series chronicles one hundred years of the Whiteoaks family from 1854-1954. 


The novels were not written in sequential order, and each can be read as an independent story.
