For over 10 years the author worked as a reporter and editor for a weekly newspaper. During that time, he was given the opportunity to express himself in a number of Op/Ed pieces and meditations about reaching middle age in America. The author believes that the art of the essay is alive and well, and may be found in newspapers, magazines, and blogs on the internet. The essays in this book cover a wide range of topics, from fatherhood to hiking on the Appalachian Trail, and hopes that they are instructive as well as entertaining.
