Mistaken Destiny

After fourteen years away, Rick Russo never thought he'd come back to Brenner Falls—much less as a changed man.  Following years of drug addiction and life on the streets, his newfound faith has given him a second chance, including reuniting with family and a role in the church youth ministry. But first, he needs a steady job...which he finds at The Grateful Fork, a restaurant favored by locals.  

 Kelsey Brewster has her hands full juggling her online job and caring for her sister, Molly, while their parents serve on a nine-month mission. The highlight of her week is taking shifts at The Grateful Fork since food is her passion. She never expects to be drawn to a man with a past like Rick's. 

When the owner's niece steps in to manage the restaurant, it goes downhill. As Rick and Kelsey fight to save it from her mismanagement, their friendship grows—as well as their attraction. But Rick thinks Kelsey is out of his league. Kelsey doubts her appeal since her close friends have gotten married, but she can't even get a date.

 After a spontaneous kiss, Rick pulls away, convinced he isn't good enough for her. As his ministry flourishes, he's forced to face the question: has he fully accepted the grace he preaches to others?

 Just when Rick and Kelsey's relationship gets on track, a near-tragedy shakes Rick's confidence, leaving him questioning his calling—and his place in Kelsey's life. With the future and love on the line, can they trust that God is writing a greater story than they ever imagined?
