Murder at the Mic

At the Pitch Perfect Lounge, the music stops — and the mystery begins.

When retired librarian Martha "Marty" Penrose moves into Sunset Cottages retirement community, she expects quiet evenings, book clubs, and fresh starts. Instead, her first karaoke night ends with a body discovered backstage — one she nearly trips over herself. The victim is Lisa Harper, a sharp-tongued singer with a talent for collecting enemies and keeping secrets. As Lieutenant Delaney's investigation stalls, Marty can't resist putting her cataloguing instincts to work. Armed with a legal pad, a nose for inconsistency, and her diabetic alert dog Cody — who proves to have detective instincts of his own — she teams up with her flamboyant neighbor Carla and tech-savvy granddaughter Ellie to follow the money, the music, and the motives. Featuring a cast of colorful suspects, small-town charm, and one very capable cocker spaniel, Murder at the Mic is a warm, witty mystery about friendship, fresh starts, and finding clarity — even when your cataracts get in the way.
