This book tells the story of a child’s life within the strict regime of a 1950’s Barnardo’s Orphanage. Although there are many poignant memories, there is also plenty of fun and Marion’s enthusiasm for life shows through as she overcomes set-backs, faces up to sadness and reflects on how this childhood made her into the strong person she is today.
