This story includes a visiting gentleman, nearly broken by the stress of Wall Street, a country family each of whose members contribute to their visitor's recovery; adventure in the mountains and at sea; gentle times at home and two major villans. The manners of the people are of course 19th century as are the words. The value of the Christian faith is emphasized but not preached.
