The Marvelous Land of Oz (Book 2) shifts focus to a boy named Tip, who flees the wicked witch Mombi with his animated creation Jack Pumpkinhead. A rebellion led by General Jinjur threatens the Emerald City, and the story culminates in the revelation that Tip is actually Princess Ozma, rightful ruler of Oz.
In Ozma of Oz (Book 3), Dorothy returns to Oz and helps Ozma rescue the royal family of Ev from the tyrannical Nome King, introducing key figures like the mechanical man Tik-Tok.
Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz (Book 4) follows Dorothy, the Wizard, and friends as they survive a series of underground kingdoms after an earthquake, ultimately returning to Oz through danger and wonder.
