Parallel Lies

Two men—one seeking revenge, the other redemption—are on a collision course in this suspenseful thriller New York Times–bestselling author.

Two years ago, Umberto Alvarez lost his family in a train accident. The legal system failed to prosecute the Northern Union Railroad for its negligence. Channeling his unabated rage and grief into vengeance, Alvarez has declared war against the company that destroyed his life.

Ex-cop Peter Tyler lost his badge for using excessive force against a suspect. Now he's a temporary investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board. Assigned to look into the series of derailments that have been plaguing Northern Union Railroad's freight trains, Tyler stumbles upon the body of a murdered security guard.

As Tyler pursues leads to identify the killer, he discovers that the railroad corporation has secrets to hide. But Alvarez is already preparing to sabotage an even greater target—with greater casulties—a passenger train routed between New York and Washington D.C.
