When Fitzwilliam Darcy returns early to Pemberley, he little expects to find Miss Elizabeth Bennet there. Intrigued by her visit to Derbyshire, he invites her to dine at the house with her aunt and uncle. But a parting invitation after dinner to go riding the next day, brings about consequences that neither of them could foresee.

When they go riding, Elizabeth's horse bolts during a sudden storm. Separated from the others, they are forced to take shelter in a forgotten cottage on the estate. And as passions build and the storm rages outside, Elizabeth and Darcy discover that their growing attraction will not be denied. But after the rain, will Darcy meet his obligations, or pretend as if nothing had happened at all?
