Michelle Miller grew up asking questions nobody wanted answered. Where do the women's stories go? Why does the sacred always seem to live somewhere else, behind an institution, mediated by someone else's authority? She stopped asking out loud, and spent decades becoming easier to receive: agreeable, accommodating, fluent in everyone but herself.

Pattern Weaver is the record of what happened when she started asking again.

It begins on an ordinary, unbearable night, body in pain, phone in hand, scrolling toward something she couldn't name, until she found the Cathars: a medieval sect who believed the divine spark was never granted from outside, never earned through compliance. It was already there. From that single thread, Michelle follows a map made of Gnostic texts, a burned mystic who wrote the truth anyway, a recovery program that taught her she had choices even when she couldn't see them, and the people who showed her what real love and real boundaries actually look like, often in the least glamorous moments imaginable.

Written in verse-stanza prose that moves between blunt, lived scenes and the larger patterns they reveal, this is creative nonfiction for anyone who has ever sensed that the official story left something important out, and wondered if they were the only one who noticed.
