Why?

Reading Pleasure: Powerfully written, fast paced, intricately plotted, lively, rip-roaring stories: love, betrayal, surprise, horror, discovery, strong women and men, hero’s that are the equal of the villains. 


The Shock of the New: There is the shock of the ‘carefully defined new’ within the social boxes, and then the true shock of the NEW-the larger world breaking through the boxes. Doubt that it’s really new? Au contraire, mon ami/amie! 


Intellectual: A bounded world is seeing the world through stories. An unbounded world is seeing the stories through the world. That is the huge jump that these books offer. 


Comparisons: it’s been argued that the books are as visionary, as game changing as ‘A Stranger in a Strange Land’; reminiscent of “Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Mechanics; and in scope and sweep, Atlas Shrugged, although a dramatically different message.
