Vesta McNaughton's best pal Dolly Hill has always wanted to act in a proper artsy Edinburgh theatrical production. So when Dolly lands a very small role in a play, Vesta reluctantly agrees to help out and do hair and make-up for the production. But death makes its entrance onto the stage, and it's up to Vesta to find out the truth of what really happened. That's going to be tough, because the problem with theatre folk is that they lie for a living.
