PONTE AEREA VARIG Lockheed Electra Operations

From the mid 1970s until early 1992, VARIG Airlines operated a fleet of Lockheed L-188 Electras on the Ponte Aerea Air Bridge connecting Rio’s Santos Dumont Airport with Sao Paulo’s Congonhas airport.

This all colour photo 60-page book presents an interesting look at this operation through the camera lens of Vancouver-based aviation photographer and aviation journalist Henry Tenby. Beautiful photos of the VARIG Lockheed Electras are present at both Santos Dumont and Congonhas airports, as well as on board with various views of the wings and passenger cabin.
