Redemptive Reunion

If you would have told me not so many moons ago that I would write the story of adoption and reunion with my biological mother, I would have kindly responded that you were out of your mind. The trove of available books on adoption could make up its own literary constellation. One could write a book on all those books! Also, adoption can be a complicated subject to broach. At least, it is for me.

The choice of adoption was bitter for my biological mother, even as she hoped for that greater good that could benefit me. The process of reuniting was also a tough journey, though it was worth every bit of effort in the end. The reunion ultimately provided a beautiful salvation and an unexpected level of deliverance for my biological mother and my family overall.

My eventual motivation for putting our story into words arose from the collective encouragement of people touched by our adoption and reunion experience, myself included. The goal of this book is not to sway personal beliefs, but rather, inspire your own sense of peace, courage, and humor as you tackle life’s obstacles. It doesn’t matter whether these obstacles are related to adoption, reunion, or anything else.

May this spiritual saga, with names modified out of respect for privacy, serve to be a ray of light within the darkness of life’s most difficult questions and answers, with the end goal of reaching a new level of self-realization, acceptance, and redemption.
