Jason Tron is enclosed in a holding cell, awaiting trial. He is naked from the waist up and he is doing triceps push ups, using the edge of a bunk. Jason has the upper body development of an even larger man than his five foot eleven inch, 215 pound body would seem to indicate.
Officer Schmidt peers through the little window in the door. He says, “This Jason may be violent, stand ready.”
Officer Schmidt then unlocks the door to the holding cell and opens the door.
Jason Tron looks over at the police officers and, with mild interest and asks, “Why have you come in here?”
Officer Schmidt peers at Jason Tron and says, “Your lawyer wants to talk to you.”
Jason Tron finishes a last triceps push up, rises and pulls up the top of his orange jail onesie, then says, “I suppose that I need to talk to my lawyer.”
Officer Schmidt sneers at Jason Tron and says, “First a stop at the showers and then you talk to your lawyer.”
Jason Tron fluffs the orange jail onesie and says, “I suppose that I should be dry, when I talk to my lawyer.”
Officer Schmidt then leads Jason Tron to a rest room, with showers, and watches as Jason leisurely washes and dries himself. Officer Schmidt then hands Jason a fresh orange jail onesie.
Jason puts on the new orange jail onesie and says, “Ready for a talk with my lawyer.”
Officer Schmidt then leads Jason to an interview room.
A man in a three piece suit sits and awaits Jason.
Jason opens things by asking the man, “Has the list of witnesses that I requested been approved?”
The lawyer says, “There are some questions about certain of the witnesses.”
Jason asks the man, “For Instance?”
The lawyer says, “You want to question the orthopedic surgeon who operated on Frederic Rice. Do you have any training or background in orthopedic surgery?”
Jason snorts, “Where I went to high school, the English teachers took ‘all knowledge’ for their specialty. Said all knowledge would, of necessity include training and background in orthopedic surgery. Thus, I was at least in contact with a source of knowledge including training and background in orthopedic surgery.”
The lawyer says, “A Judge will not accept that sort of background knowledge as training and experience in orthopedic surgery.”
Jason lectures, “So you say. I will use the training and experience of said orthopedic surgeon to prove that all of the witnesses to supposed recent injuries to one Frederic Rice made statements that are provably based upon perjured testimony.”
The lawyer says, “A Judge will be very difficult to convince. Do you claim that you did not inflict injury upon said Frederic Rice?”
Jason sighs and lectures, “I told the police and I told a police psychiatrist that I have no knowledge as to what night have happened to said Frederic Rice, after said Frederic Rice assaulted and battered me. I told the police and I told a police psychiatrist that I black out during times of violence. I’m telling you you that I have no knowledge as to what might have happened to said Frederic Rice, after said Frederic Rice assaulted and battered me. I’m again telling you that since I black out during times of violence, I have no idea if I inflicted injury upon said Frederic Rice. I told you and I’m again telling you, I arrested said Frederic Rice, citizen’s arrest, and the police failed and refused refused to at least confine said Frederic Rice and indeed disturbed what the police called a crime scene.”
The lawyer sneers, “According to hospital records, Frederic Rice suffered a blow to the right side of his head that broke his jaw, broke skull bones and caused the loss of five teeth. Frederic Rice suffered a blow to the left side of his body that broke four ribs, and then a blow to the front of his skull, his face, that caused several broken bones and a very bad concussion.”
Jason asks, “The blows were done with a fist, a stick, a stone, what?”
The lawyer comes alert, “The hospital report didn’t address the object or objects that caused the injuries.”
