ShotMeta User Manual

User manual for version 1.1 of the ToraLab application ShotMeta.  


ShotMeta was designed to give amateur and professional photographers the tools they need to organize the metadata in their images. IPTC (to XMP standards), location, and DICOM fields can all be edited within the app (EXIF data is read only).

Edits can be applied to a single image or group of images and exported via Dropbox, email, FTP (supports multiple FTP uploads simultaneously) and iTunes file transfer. Cloud settings allow users to begin edits on one device and continue on another linked to the same account.

Since the creation of items like the Troi Filemaker Plugin, some users have found the need to use IPTC fields to store data other than their heading names intend. For this reason, we have developed a template system that allows users to rename these sections within the app, leaving section names unchanged in the actual metadata, to better organize entries. Users can also use the template section to select common entries for fields to eliminate the need to retype them for every image or group.
