Smoking and Schizophrenia

The nicotine dependence is the most common form of substance abuse in subjects with schizophrenia, they are dependent on nicotine with a rate three times higher than that of the general population. The relationship between smoking and schizophrenia is complex: sick people seem to be driven to smoke, and researchers have found a biological basis for this addiction.
