Soldiers Three

First published in 1888, "Soldiers Three" is a collection of short stories by Rudyard Kipling. 
The three soldiers of the title are Learoyd, Mulvaney and Ortheris, who had also appeared previously in the collection "Plain Tales from the Hills".

Joseph Rudyard Kipling was an English author and poet, born in India, and best known today for his children's books. He is regarded as an innovator in the art of the short story; his children's books, such as "The Jungle Book", are enduring classics.
