Speaking Drums: Rhythm Language & Creativity by Chris Fields is a unique approach to learning the drum kit and expanding musical creativity through the spoken word.  Drawing upon his intense studies of drum kit, tabla and world percussion, Chris has developed a precise language to describe sounds and patterns created on the drum kit.  Speaking Drums can be used by drummers, musicians and students of all skill levels.  For beginners it offers a natural way to develop a musical vocabulary on the drum kit.  For more advanced players it offers a creative way to approach the kit and develop ideas in a new way.  All exercises have audio examples.
