Speed and Greed

Ben DeCastro is a member of the Seagull Beach Volunteer Fire Department. His day job is a self-employed photographer and designers of Romance novel covers. In his off-time he drives in sports car rallies. Right near Ben's residence, a semi-flatbed truck carrying a vintage jet aircraft (formerly displayed on a pedestal in a Lakewood park) overturns on PCH. The painted-over canopy slips open revealing a woman's decomposed hand. Ben tries to determine the identity of the person. His research leads him to the case of Margaret Devereaux, a Lakewood real estate agent who went missing a decade earlier, and who was never found. Her car turned up in Signal Hill. Presumed dead, her husband was convicted of the crime.
