Deep beneath the world of Lytheos, humanity survives in a labyrinth of steel, stone, and eternal dark—and believes nothing exists beyond it. For generations, the Geotheocracy has preached a single, unshakable truth: There is no Surface. There never was. To question it is rebellion. Even to say the word 'sublevel' is heresy.
Narkvosu, once a scholar of forbidden histories, sets out to wander the sublevels as an exile. He has spent years studying relics that contradict doctrine—ancient cities, decoding abandoned scriptures, and questioning a history the Geotheocracy insists is absolute.
The Horizon is a myth.
The Sun is a cautionary fable.
There is no such thing as a Sky.
If, however, such things were real, everything the Geotheocracy teaches is a lie.
As he climbs through the dead, dry caverns—where the air thins and fungus forests guard ancestral secrets—Narkvosu uncovers evidence of a civilization that came before his own, one that may have stood beneath the Stars.
