That Old Jacket

That Old Jacket tells the story of every U.S. Army, Army Corps, Infantry Division, Airborne Division, Army Air Force Division, Marine Division and numerous specialty divisions that fought during WWII as well as a sprinkling of U.S. Navy and British Commonwealth units that also served.


In addition, combat statistics for each unit are provided that include the names of top level commanders, a list of combat campaigns, combat casualties, maps where they fought, and a brief combat history of each unit. The uniforms pictured are the actual war uniforms that the veterans wore home and then stored in their closets.


Each uniform proudly displays a unit patch know as an SSI (Shoulder Sleeve Insignia) and is accompanied by an explanation of the meaning and origin of the insignia.
