The Beauty of Computation

The book presents the fundamental ideas of computation at a detailed technical level, presenting the ideas from first principles.  It proceeds with a bottom up approach starting with mathematical foundations including logic. It continues with description of physical devices to implement hardware, processor design, the connecting ideas to software, software tools, and algorithms for major application areas. The goal is to make an appreciation of the elegance of computational ideas across multiple disciplines available to a wide audience.
