The Captive Capo

Vivienne Moreau is not a capo. She is a thief, and the best in the city. When she steals a ledger from the Cattaneo family, she doesn't know it contains the names of every capo in the territory. She doesn't know the family will hunt her. She doesn't know the capo who finds her will lock her in his wine cellar instead of killing her. Dante Cattaneo has spent ten years protecting his family's secrets. He cannot kill Vivienne until he knows who she is working for. He locks her in the cellar and visits her every day. She mocks him. She thieves from his kitchen. She tells him the truth: she was hired by a rival family to steal the ledger, and she doesn't know who they are. Dante believes her. He lets her go. She comes back. She tells him she has nowhere else to go. They burn the ledger together. They run the territory together.
