*The Children's Bible* (1922), prepared by Charles Foster Kent and Henry A. Sherman of Yale at the invitation of the Council of Religious Education, was the first major American Protestant attempt to retell the Bible's central narratives for children in language that was both faithful to the underlying scholarship and accessible to readers between the ages of eight and fourteen. The book was for two generations the standard mainline-Protestant family Bible for children in the English-speaking world.
This edition reproduces the standard 1922 first-edition text in full.
