This novelette is the story of a storm and how it affects a man in a tree with balloons, a little boy watching him, a cougar and the mountain deer he devours, a crow, a mosquito, a man who works in a aluminum siding factory, a fisherman and his cat, a photographer, a man who works at a hardware store, and a man driving a truck who drinks a beer in a bar. Written in a uniquely surreal manner.
