Julia moves from Brisbane to Cairns to take up a new position in the bank for which she works. The move represents a promotion for her. Her relationship with Mitch is troubled, and she is reluctant to take him with her. He persuades her to let him accompany her, promising he will change his ways.

Unfortunately, they befriend Ross and Emma, who have serious troubles of their own.
