The Far Shore

Edward Ellsberg's The Far Shore is the first-hand account of the Allied D-Day landings in France in June 1944. The book describes in detail the massive preparations for the launch of the greatest armada in history, focusing on Hitler's Atlantic Wall defenses along the Normandy beaches and the creation of the Mulberry artificial floating harbor which would prove vital in securing an Allied beach-head in France.
