After the daring rescue of the Weavers Boles and Wells, The Man in the Black Hat ventures to the grand city of Chicago, to meet with his closest allies, his brother and sisters. Even as he does though, John knows he has set into motion new enemies with evil intentions, setting up new obstacles and dangers he will have to overcome to save his family from an ancient prophecy. John will have to relay on his dearest companions, Wally and Wahkan and the Sky Pirate Captain Fade, to stay ahead of the impending doom that haunts his every step

And as he does, his sisters Sara and Marisol find their way into the middle of the plans of the secretive Cabal, the shadowy conspirators of the Protectorate and the Magi Society who intend to create the fabled ‘Philosophers Stone’, the greatest weapon of the time.
