A plague, unlike anything the human race has ever seen has just killed the Vice President. Then the president falls before he can appoint a replacement. The Speaker of the House is next in line but the Secretary of State has seized the White House for himself. At Michigan State University a team of geneticists is all that stands between humanity and extinction but a power-mad governor wants their discovery at any price.
