In this colourfully illustrated children's and teen book, Indigo Feather, where the past meets the future, Matthew, a young Canadian boy, discovers his ancestral roots in a rather unusual manner. He gets transported in time, to an island. In his feat to return home, Matt meets Disala a young girl, Jeeva-Hatte a Yakka boy, and his tribal friends and encounters amazing adventure, friendship, and a connection to his immigrant ancestors

Indigo Feather is part of the Oafie Booksheld Collection by Sri Lankan born Canadian Author illustrator Samara Cyndie De Silva. It is condensed version of her so to be released novel Jeeva-hatte the Yakka Legacy. The fictional book was inspired by the meeting of Kuwanna the Yakkini Tribal Princess of Sri Lanka (Ceylon) and the shipwrecked, exiled Prince Vijaya of Sinhapura.
