X-Club owner Jerik realizes in the middle of a hot encounter with two humans that he's bored beyond belief and ready for a change of pace. In the past, a change of pace meant new partners in a different location in different positions. But his restless ennui cannot be extinguished, and in a sea of lusting bodies, he's adrift in unaccustomed loneliness. She's in the post-death haze when some huge guy bowls her over, completely ruining her Dolce & Gabbana coat, not to mention her Gucci leggings and Blahnik boots. She doesn't actually care about the clothes; she's still mulling over the passing of the most recent child her foundation, Humans with Heart, served. When the huge guy turns out to be a Krinar, she can't exit his penthouse fast enough. But the relentless Krinar won't leave her alone, and she finds his ego endearing if misguided. Because while she might enjoy spending time in the unapologetic lothlario's company, he isn't marriage material. Because she could never love a Krinar. Especially a Krinar Rake.
