Jane and Viscount Raleigh have married in a pragmatic scheme to protect their reputations. But she lacks confidence in her looks, and they haven’t yet consummated their union Raleigh escorts Jane to Kraven Hall, an estate in Northern England that he’s inherited from his great-uncle.
