The Last Transition..‪.‬

In 2001, after the 9/11 attacks and with active wars in both Afghanistan and Iraq, the rise of prejudice in this country became unprecedented. I had worked in Iran for the US Government as a part of a Military Assistance Program in 1971. At the time, the US was looking for Iran to be a stabilizing force in the region and Israel, an unacknowledged nuclear weapons state, was jointly developing Iran’s nuclear program with them; that was over 45 years ago! I wrote my first thoughts about Iran in the wake of September 11th as a warm memoir that I shared with friends in an attempt to counter the growing prejudices that had surfaced at home. By 2005, I began to craft a fact-based novel whose theme was intended to make a positive difference. I used a fact-based novel as a means to attract readers to ideas of diplomatic solutions, also addressing the need for a more secure Internet and a change in the broader context for Middle East policy with the basic stakes of ‘no war with Iran!’ After more than a decade of turmoil, the foundational issues are still found to be causing global impact for national and international survival. By appealing the historical facts to a broader audience and revisiting the issues, I am attempting to increase the understanding of the impacts and the consequences for everyone.
