The Push and Pull of Things is a wild ride into the center of a very dysfunctional family just at the pivotal moment when the sins of the father (PJ Serubbi, a novelist and electrical engineer with a shady corporate past) are visited on the daughter (Lois Serubbi, an animator, graphic artist and marijuana enthusiast) instead of on the son (Vincent Serubbi, a professional stand up comedian and has-been star of a defunct television sit-com). When Lois goes missing while visiting her girlfriend in Amsterdam, what ensues is a transcontinental mystery/adventure where this family who can barely tolerate one another find they must work together to help one of their own.
The Push and Pull of Things is also the first SmartStory, a new form of enhanced literature that turns the modern novel into a enhanced media experience offering a wide assortment of character journals, cell phone video, digital stills, audio tracks, animation and other character ephemera that a reader may navigate through at any time during the reading of the novel.
