I broke the cardinal rule of being a best friend. I fell for my best friend's older brother. Silas was four grades older, but that didn't stop me from longing for him from a distance, sneaking glances at him from the shadows and daydreaming about being seen as more than a kid. When he went away to college, I tried to put him out of my mind once and for all. I was doing fine, but now he's back. This time is different. We're adults, so the rules don't apply anymore…right?
