What if you were born with magical powers that were a family secret?

Rookie reporter Maddy Stoner and her teen sister Ally have just moved into a new town after the tragic death of their parents. Seeking a fresh start, Maddy soon discovers that the place she now calls home is the playground for a coven of dark witches. Maddy begins to suspect that Ally's new best friend is part of the coven while she herself is befriended by a strange man who claims to be a "witch hunter"…and that Maddy is a descendant of a legendary line of powerful white magic practitioners. After a series of mysterious deaths occur in town, Maddy begins to fear for her sister's safety as well as her own. 

Is this dark coven of witches behind the deaths of Maddy's parents? And can Maddy learn enough of the craft to protect both herself and her sister?
