Marie-Catherine d'Aulnoy (1650-1705) was a French writer,and she was c onsidered the one who developed the genre of a classical French fairy-tale. Her most popular fairy-tales were: 'The Story Of Pretty Goldilocks', 'The Blue Bird' and 'The Imp Prince'.


Once upon a time there lived a widowed queen with her daughter — a young princess who was so beautiful that kings competed for her hand not believing they had a chance to get it. The queen was afraid her daughter would never get married and decided to consult a fairy. But she knew that the fairy was guarded by lions who would attack the queen.
